Can use iris scan if fingerprint is not available
If you don’t have eyes, you can make Aadhar card by giving your fingerprint.
Even if both are not available, Aadhaar card will be made under extraordinary nomination.

Aadhaar Card Rule Change: Aadhaar Card has become the most important document of our identity today. Also, it has become necessary for availing benefits ranging from financial needs to government schemes. Now a big news related to Aadhar card has come out. A change has been made in the process of making Aadhaar Card (Aadhaar Card Enrolment). UIDAI has also shared information about this on social media platform X.

Information regarding this change related to Aadhaar card has been shared by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on social media handle. According to UIDAI’s post on X, now Aadhaar enrollment can be done through iris scan in case of missing fingers.

The government has said that a person eligible for Aadhaar can enroll using iris scan in case fingerprints are not available. This statement comes after Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar confirmed the nomination of Josimol P Jose, a woman from Kerala. The woman could not enroll for Aadhaar because she did not have fingers on her hands.

According to a statement by Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajiv Chandrashekhar, a team from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) met Jose, a resident of Kumarakam in Kottayam district of Kerala, at his home on the same day and generated his Aadhaar number.

Chandrashekhar said that all Aadhaar Seva Kendras have been asked to issue Aadhaar to people with blurred fingerprints or other similar disabilities by taking alternative biometrics.

According to the statement, a person who is eligible for Aadhaar but is unable to provide fingerprints can enroll using only the iris scan. Similarly, an eligible person whose iris could not be taken for any reason can enroll using his fingerprint only. It said that the name, gender, address, date of birth of a person unable to provide both finger and iris biometrics are matched with the available biometrics.
