This 92 year old woman proved that there is no age limit for learning and education. ‘Budhi Amma’ likes to study and goes to school every day. Now, Salima Khan can easily write her name aka “Khan Chachi”. Can count up to 100. The headmistress of the primary school assured him that she would arrange old age pension for him.

92 year old Salima Khan, living in Bulandshahr, goes to study at Chawli Primary School in Bulandshahr. Salima Khan studies in the class with small children who are younger than her grandchildren. 92-year-old Salima Khan’s name can be recorded in the Guinness World Records for starting studies at the oldest age. Till now this record is in the name of Kenya. Kimani Nganga Maruge of Kenya, who has passed away, is listed as the oldest person to complete primary school. Kimani Nganga Maruge enrolled in 2004 at the age of 84.
25 women of the village were also inspired for literacy.
Dr. Pratibha Sharma, Headmaster of Primary School Chawli, says that the teacher was initially hesitant in teaching Khan aunty, but her passion for studies won everyone’s hearts. Salima Khan not only herself goes to school to study, she also inspires others to study with her. Since she has been coming to school, 25 women of the village have also started literacy classes.
