The incidents of drowning in the state have increased these days. The incessant rains have filled not only the river but also the puddles and potholes. Meanwhile, about a dozen people have died due to drowning within the last 24 to 30 hours.
One person died due to drowning in river in Munger
A 50-year-old man died due to drowning in Mahane river located in Lohra village of Haveli Kharagpur police station area of Munger late on Saturday evening. As soon as the news of the death was received, there was uproar among the family members. On the other hand, after registering a UD case, the police took the dead body in their possession and sent it to Munger Sadar Hospital for postmortem. According to the information, Govind Manjhi, a resident of Lohra village, had gone to the Mahane river to defecate late on Saturday evening, where he drowned in deep water and died due to slipping of his foot in the river. When he did not return home till late night, the relatives started searching for him. When the relatives went near the river during the search, they saw a dead body floating in the river.
Body of unknown youth recovered from Maharana dam of Banka
On Sunday, the police recovered the body of an unknown youth from the Maharana dam of Banka’s Barahat police station area. The news of the recovery of the dead body of the young man from the dam created a sensation in the entire area. According to the information, as soon as the villagers went for defecation near the dam on Sunday morning, the dead body of a young man was found floating there. After this, its information was given to the police. The police reached the spot and took out the dead body of the youth. After this, the police kept trying for a long time to identify the deceased youth, but he could not be identified.
Youth died due to drowning while preparing jute in Araria
Shankar Mandal’s father Satanlal Mandal, a 25-year-old youth, died due to drowning in ward number 10 of Dumariya Panchayat under Kursakanta block of Araria on Sunday morning after going into deep water while preparing jute. Teenager dies due to drowning in the sub-stream of Bagmati river in Khagaria
A nine-year-old girl died due to drowning on Sunday afternoon in Kodra Dhar, a sub-section of Bagmati river located in Sonavarsha village of Chautham panchayat of Chautham police station area of Khagaria. The deceased has been identified as Nutan Kumari, nine-year-old daughter of Chandrakishore Yadav, a resident of Sonavarsha village. It is told that Kodra had gone to Dhar to take a new bath on Sunday afternoon. While taking bath, she went into deep water. Due to which Nutan drowned in water. With the help of local villagers and divers, the dead body was pulled out from the shore.
Seven year old boy drowned in flood water while playing in Katihar
Ambarul Hussain, a seven-year-old son of Firoz, a resident of Ward No. 2 of Bharri Panchayat of Kadwa Block in Katihar, died on Sunday due to drowning in the flood waters. According to the information received, many children of the village were playing in front of Firoz’s house. In this sequence, due to slipping of the feet, the said child went into the deep water of the flood and the child drowned. As soon as he drowned in the water, there was uproar in the whole village. Two died in Bhagalpur and Bettiah
Bhawanipur police recovered an unidentified dead body from a water-filled pit on the banks of NH-31 around Bhawanipur OP area Bhagwan Petrol Pump under Navgachia of Bhagalpur district on the information of the people. Youth dies due to drowning in Darbhanga
A young man died due to drowning on Sunday in Harinahi village under Tilkeshwar OP’s Usri Panchayat in Kusheshwarsthan of Darbhanga. After taking out the dead body with the help of the villagers, information about it was given to Tilkeshwar OP and Zonal Administration. According to the information, Bhim Rai (30), son of Ram Ekbal Rai of the village, was going to fetch green fodder for the cattle by swimming in the water at around 3 pm, during which he started drowning after going into deep water. Farmer’s dead body recovered after 24 hours in Arrah
The dead body of a farmer drowned in the Banas river near Gyanpur village of Jagdishpur police station area of Arrah has been recovered by the NDRF team after a lot of effort near Abhimaniya village of Udwantnagar police station area. The name of the deceased farmer is Ram Pravesh Singh, who is the son of late Rajinand Singh, a resident of Gyanpur village. Death of a person due to drowning in Aahar in Ara
A person died due to drowning in a water-filled Ahar on Sunday afternoon, east of Chilhar village under Azimabad police station area of Arrah. After getting the information of the death, the police station chief reached the spot, got the dead body out of the water, took it in his possession and sent it to Arrah Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Child dies due to drowning in pond while taking bath in Saran
Nitish Kumar, the 12-year-old son of Mahendra Yadav of Hussepur tole Ramnagar village of Ekma block of Saran district, died due to drowning while taking a bath in the pond. Nitish was a third class student. After noon Nitish along with the children of the village went to take bath in the pond located in Hussepur Ramnagar village. While taking a bath in the pond, he went into deep water. When he did not come out of the water, the children who had gone to take bath started making noise. After this, the people of the surrounding area reached and started the work of finding Nitish in the pond. The people of the village gave this information to the police of Ekma police station. Police recovered Nitish’s body from the pond through divers and sent it to Sadar Hospital Chhapra for postmortem.
Child died in Bihta adjacent to Patna
Late Sunday evening, a two-year-old innocent child died after drowning in a water-filled pit in Panal village of Bihta police station area. After getting the information of the death, there was uproar among the relatives of the deceased. People enraged by the incident blocked the Bihta-Khagaul main road by arson by keeping the dead body. It is said that the two-year-old child of Panal village resident Nunu Yadav was playing outside the house. The Panal village resident and dairy operator had dug a pit 8 to 10 feet from JCBE to throw cow dung. Due to heavy rains, the pit got filled with water. On Sunday evening, the innocent child slipped while playing outside the house. The relatives started searching for the child in the entire village. But nowhere to be found. After a long time, peeping into the pit dug in front of the house, I saw that an innocent child had fallen in it. After a lot of effort, the child was taken out of the pit and admitted to a private hospital in a hurry, but the doctors declared him dead.
Unidentified girl’s body recovered from Ganga river in Patna
On the information of the villagers, the police recovered the dead body of a teenager from Ramnagar Diyara Ganga Ghat under Athmalgola police station area of Patna. Police Station President Rajeev Ranjan Singh said that on the basis of information received by the villagers, the police reached the spot and recovered the body of a 17-year-old girl.
