Rahul Gandhi will start the journey from January 14
The journey from Manipur to Maharashtra under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi will begin from January 14 and will cover a distance of 6,713 kilometers. People involved in this will travel by buses and also on foot. The yatra, being organized ahead of the 2024 general elections, will pass through 110 districts, 100 Lok Sabha constituencies and 337 assembly constituencies in 66 days, starting from Imphal, the capital of Manipur.
Kharge told what is the purpose of the trip
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, Congress is taking out Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra because the government did not give us a chance to raise our issues in Parliament. Through this platform we will listen to the people. Congress had earlier said that the ‘East-to-West India Jodo Nyaya Yatra’ would prove to be as impactful and transformative as the earlier ‘South-to-North India Jodo Yatra’ from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.
Kharge attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Taking aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kharge said that unfortunate incidents have taken place in Manipur and the Prime Minister, who speaks and gets photographed everywhere, has not yet visited the violence-hit state. He also attacked the BJP-led government at the Center and alleged that it was misusing agencies like the Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax Department to threaten opposition leaders.
