8th Pay Commission: Will the 8th Pay Commission be formed before the Lok Sabha elections? Big update regarding DA

8th Pay Commission: To increase the income of government employees, the government constitutes a pay commission. For the past several days, government employees have been waiting for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. In fact, to increase the salary of central employees, the central government constitutes a pay commission every 10 years. The government increases the salaries of its employees only on the basis of the recommendations of these pay commissions. At present, central government employees are getting salary according to the 7th Pay Commission. In the year 2014, the government constituted the 7th Pay Commission, and the recommendations of the commission were implemented in the year 2016.

Will the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?
Ten years have passed since the formation of the 7th Pay Commission. In such a situation, the central employees are eagerly waiting for the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission. But now the government has made it clear that at present it does not have any proposal under consideration to form the Eighth Pay Commission. In response to a question in the House, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary has made it clear that the Union Cabinet has not considered this matter while approving the amendment in pay and allowances on the basis of the Seventh Pay Commission. He said that no such proposal is under consideration with the government.

Minister of State for Finance gave this answer

According to the reply given by Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary in the Rajya Sabha, it has become clear that at present the government is not constituting the 8th Pay Commission. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary himself has said that there is no need to constitute a new pay commission to review the salaries, allowances and pensions given to central employees and pensioners. He also said in the House that there should be a new system to amend the salary structure. The Minister of State for Finance said that the government is now considering that the salary increase of central government employees should be on the basis of their merit.

Dearness allowance and dearness relief may increase
Even though central government employees are feeling disappointed due to the non-constitution of the 8th Pay Commission, a good government can soon announce dearness allowance for central employees and dearness relief for pensioners. Actually, the government increases dearness allowance and dearness relief twice a year. According to media reports, dearness allowance can be increased by four to five percent for the half year from January to June. If the allowance increases even by four percent, then the DA of central employees can increase to 50 percent.
