8 killed, many houses damaged in firecracker factory explosion in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal

An explosion occurred in a firecracker factory in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Sunday (August 27) morning. At least 8 people have been reported killed in this and many others have been injured. Police have told that the explosion took place at around 10 am when several people were working in a firecracker factory in Moshpol area of ​​Neelganj under Duttpukur police station area, about 30 km north of Kolkata.

A police officer said that six bodies have been found so far. Many other people have also been injured in the explosion. He told that the injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital. In May, at least 12 people were killed in a similar blast at an illegal firecracker factory in Egra in East Medinipur district.
