Electoral Bond: The Election Commission of India on Sunday released the data received from political parties on electoral bonds. The data given by the Election Commission shows that the ruling BJP at the Center has received an amount of Rs 6,986.5 crore through this bond, which is the highest. At the same time, Future Gaming and Hotel Services had bought the maximum bonds worth Rs 1368 crore. This disclosure is part of the data dump of a total of 523 recognized and unrecognized political parties made public by the Election Commission on the directions of the Supreme Court.

Based on the information given by SBI, the Election Commission had uploaded the data on its website last week. ‘Future Gaming and Hotel Services’ had donated Rs 509 crore to Tamil Nadu’s ruling party DMK through electoral bonds. Donations made by ‘Future Gaming’ constitute more than 77 per cent of the total receipts from electoral bonds of Rs 656.5 crore reported by the DMK.

  • BJP received the highest amount of Rs 6,986.5 crore since the implementation of the electoral bond scheme in 2018. This was followed by West Bengal’s ruling party Trinamool Congress (Rs 1,397 crore), Congress (Rs 1,334 crore) and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (Rs 1,322 crore).
  • According to the data, Odisha’s ruling party BJD received Rs 944.5 crore. After this, DMK redeemed bonds worth Rs 656.5 crore and Andhra Pradesh’s ruling party YSR Congress redeemed bonds worth about Rs 442.8 crore.
  • According to an earlier report compiled by NGO, ADR, electoral bonds worth Rs 16,518 crore were sold from March 2018 to January 2024.
  • Combining both the figures, it has been estimated that BJP has received a total amount of Rs 7,700 crore during the entire period of the scheme.
  • According to data released on Sunday, Janata Dal (Secular) received bonds worth Rs 89.75 crore, which also included Rs 50 crore from Megha Engineering, the second largest buyer of electoral bonds.
  • Future Gaming Company was the largest buyer of electoral bonds with Rs 1,368 crore, of which about 37 per cent went to the DMK.
  • TDP received Rs 181.35 crore, Shiv Sena received Rs 60.4 crore, RJD received Rs 56 crore, Samajwadi Party received Rs 14.05 crore through electoral bonds. The data said that Akali Dal encashed bonds worth Rs 7.26 crore, AIADMK Rs 6.05 crore, National Conference encashed bonds worth Rs 50 lakh received from Bharti Group.
  • Although the Aam Aadmi Party did not give the cumulative figure of its donations, but the SBI data showed that it had received Rs 65.45 crore, while after the information given to the Election Commission, it is estimated to get Rs 3.55 crore more, which brings the total donation to Rs. It became Rs 69 crore.
