Sai said that the state government has decided to increase the dearness allowance of the state employees by four percent in the seventh pay scale, and the dearness relief of pensioners will also increase by four percent. He said that this dearness allowance and dearness relief will be given from March 1, 2024. He said, “As a result, the rate of dearness allowance and dearness relief will increase from 42 percent to 46 percent in the seventh pay scale and to 230 percent in the sixth pay scale. This decision will benefit 3 lakh 90 thousand employees and 1 lakh 20 thousand pensioners of the state. With this decision, state employees and pensioners will get a benefit of Rs 68 crore per month and Rs 816 crore in a year.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also announced to provide the final installment of the dues of the seventh pay scale to the officers and employees. He said that the Gram Panchayat Secretaries in the state were on strike for a total of 55 days from March 16 to May 9 last year, and their strike period will be adjusted in their earned leave and they will be paid salary for 55 days. According to him, this decision will impose an expenditure burden of Rs 70 crore on the state government.

Sai said that to solve the problems of the employees, a five-member committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Principal Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department. According to him, the committee will discuss with the representatives of various employee unions and give appropriate suggestions to the government in the interest of the employees. The Chief Minister said that many complaints of harassment of journalists and people associated with the media industry have come to light in the state, in this regard, the committee under the chairmanship of the Home Secretary.
