The demand for payment of 7th Pay Commission dues has intensified in Maharashtra. More than 1500 employees and field workers of Forest Development Corporation (FDCM) have gone on strike.

The employees stopped work from Monday and sat on strike. The FDCM headquarters in Nagpur looked deserted and all the employees joined the protest outside the office building. Many working and retired employees are already on hunger strike.

FDCM employees union leader Ajay Patil said, Maharashtra government had implemented the recommendations of the 7th pay panel for state employees in 2016.

The FDCM board had given a proposal to the state government to implement the pay panel recommendations from January 1, 2016, but it was agreed to implement the decision from July 2021. There is resentment among the employees due to this decision.
