To honor the great men and to make the young generation aware of their biography, every year the birth anniversaries and death anniversaries are celebrated by the state government. 78 national/state functions celebrated at the state level are celebrated in Patna. Republic Day on 26 January and Independence Day celebrations on 15 August are also included in these celebrations. According to the experts, about one crore is spent annually on the programs held on national/state functions in the district from the birth anniversary to the death anniversary of these great men. There is a budget provision of about 80 lakhs every year for this from the district administration. According to the formula, the additional amount to be spent is arranged from another head.
Spending from thousands to lakhs in a program
Celebrations for great men are organized in various Golambars or parks apart from the Sri Krishna Memorial Building complex. Along with this, apart from the Legislature premises, celebrations are also organized in various museums. About 20 to 22 thousand are spent on the program organized in Shri Krishna Memorial Building premises, while about 32 to 35 thousand are spent in the programs held in the parks. Apart from Independence Day and Republic Day, lakhs are spent in any big program in Gandhi Maidan. Programs are organized on a large scale. A lot is spent on this. First President of the country, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Martyr Jubba Sahni, Bhagat Singh, Ustad Bismillah Khan, freedom fighters who were martyred in liberating the country, Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, leader of the entire revolution, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, former Prime Minister Birth anniversary-death anniversary celebrations of Indira Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Chandrashekhar Azad, former Chief Ministers of the state, famous poets are organized. The statue of late Sir Shiv Sagar Ram Gulam, the father of the nation of Mauritius, is located at the southern end of Gandhi Maidan.
Programs are organized at different places
Programs organized on the birth anniversaries and death anniversaries of great men are organized at different places. Programs are organized in the premises of Shri Krishna Memorial Building. Here tributes are offered by garlanding the pictures. On the day of the function, the artists of Information Public Relations Department give their presentation. Apart from this, tribute is paid by garlanding the statues installed in various Golambars and parks of the city. Representatives of the government participate in all these programs. Political parties also do the work of setting up political parties on the pretext of birth anniversaries of great men. There is competition among political parties to organize functions of great men on a particular caste.
