46 courses released under Indian heritage and culture, Vedic Mathematics, Yoga, Ayurveda, Sanskrit will be taught in colleges

A state in Eastern India: Now Indian heritage and culture will be taught in all the universities and colleges of the country. For this, UGC has issued the final guideline. UGC has prepared these courses on the basis of New National Education Policy-2020 to disseminate Indian heritage and culture. These will include 46 courses including Universal Human Values, Vedic Mathematics, Yoga, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, Indian Languages, Music and Classical Dance. Artists will also be added to conduct the course. These courses will be short term multi tier credit based modular programs with multiple entry and exit points. These courses can be joined and left at any time. These courses will be held to increase the interest of foreign people in Indian culture and to motivate them to visit India. With these courses, not only Indian students will be motivated to take forward Indian heritage and culture, but foreign students will also be motivated to come to India and study.

Classes will be conducted online and offline

This program is divided into three levels. In this, Introductory Level will be the first level, Intermediate Level will be the second and Advanced Level will be the third level. Right now UGC has included 46 areas under it. But in the coming time, it can be increased further. Each program will be of 60 hours, which can be read in hybrid mode i.e. both online and offline. These courses will be conducted by the experts of that field only. At the same time, they will also be made to visit famous places under this program, which will be specially added in the advanced level. Every institute will also develop the curriculum. In this, from the necessary information about that subject to its background, scholars and their contribution, necessary information from mythological books, etc. will be included. Each program will be divided into five units and each unit will be divided into three modules.

Credit system will be implemented, credit can be transferred

There will be a credit system under this scheme and there will also be a provision for credit transfer to another institution. A certificate will be given by the higher education institution on completion of the course, which will also be available on the National Academic Depository (NAD). Under the programme, lectures, audio videos, special lectures, group discussions, practical sessions, stage performances, counseling and guidance, etc. will be organized. There will also be assessment during the course, which will include project work, term paper, competition, essay writing, inter forum debate, speech, quiz, viva etc.
