3 PLFI militants arrested from Khunti, were involved in Murhu mobile robbery case

The arrested militants include Shankar Gop, resident of Balo Maharatoli, Ajit Swansi alias Munna Swansi, resident of Ghaghra Bantoli and Sunil Nayak, resident of Bhursu. All these militants are members of the squad of PLFI area commander Lambu alias Radung Bodra alias Tira Bodra.

SDPO Varun Rajak told in a press conference on Friday (April 5) that information was received that PLFI members are going to come to Gullu weekly market to collect the levy money. Based on the information, the police conducted a raid and arrested the three militants.

When these three were searched, a country-made pistol, 5 cartridges, six PLFI pamphlets, a diary and Rs 15,700 of levy were recovered from them. SDPO said that during interrogation, the three militants told that at the behest of PLFI area commander Lambu, they were doing the work of collecting levy, propagating the organization, expanding the network of People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) and spreading terror in the name of the organization. All three militants were involved in the mobile robbery incident on March 29.

SDPO also told that on March 29, these same people had looted mobile phones from traders at Gullu Bazaar at gunpoint. SDPO Varun Rajak, Police Inspector Kishun Das, Murhu police station in-charge Nayal Godwin Kerketta, Police Sub Inspector Manideep and armed forces personnel were involved in the arrest of these militants.

Criminal cases are already registered in different police stations

Many criminal cases are already registered in various police stations against the three militants who were caught by the police. SDPO Varun Rajak said that 16 cases are registered against Shankar Gop in Murhu, Rania, Torpa and Khunti police stations. Many serious cases including murder are involved in this.
