Carnival has started at Shilpgram located in Agra. This carnival will run from 17 October to 10 November. During this time people will get to enjoy more than 50 different types of food stalls. Besides, domestic, foreign and local tourists will also be able to enjoy hot air balloon. Agra Development Authority has kept the entry free for Taj Carnival in Shilpgram. Late on Tuesday evening, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Regional MLA Dr. G.S. “Taj Carnival 2023” based on art, crafts and cuisine was grandly inaugurated at Shilpgram by Dharmesh and Divisional Commissioner Ritu Maheshwari. District Magistrate Bhanuchandra Goswami, ADA Vice President Charcha Gaur and Joint Director Tourism Avinash Mishra were also present.
There is no place like this in Agra where you can spend a beautiful evening – Union Minister
Union Minister Prof. Baghel said that there is no such place where one can spend a beautiful evening in Agra. It is a good thing that under the direction of the Divisional Commissioner, the Agra administration is making efforts to increase the night tourism color. More efforts will have to be made to ensure that more and more tourists stay at night. The Union Minister of State also stressed on efforts to run cruises and boats in Yamuna river to attract tourists. He expected from the Divisional Commissioner that there is a huge forest around the Taj Mahal. Where high mounds are built. If this area is also improved then it can become a very attractive place for tourists.
Agra is an international tourism city – Divisional Commissioner
The Divisional Commissioner said that Agra is an International Tourism City. Through the Taj Carnival organized by the Taj Mahotsav Committee, it is our small effort to introduce Indian culture, local food, handloom etc. to every tourist coming to Agra city for complete entertainment. Apart from the monuments, there is no place in the city where tourists can visit or spend a nice evening. Therefore, first of all we started organizing Weekend Festival in Sadar and then Taj Carnival in Shilpgram. Right now this has been started as a pilot project. Further efforts will be made to make this event permanent with the help of ADA department. Cooperation is also expected from people associated with hotels and industries.
The audience thoroughly enjoyed the first day
On the first day, colorful cultural programs were presented on the stage built in Shilpgram. A spectacular laser show was also organised. Which the guests and audience thoroughly enjoyed. Apart from this, hot air balloon ride was also started for five days to attract tourists. People showed interest in the balloon ride on the very first day. In this, a ride will be given for a certain distance.
Entry into Taj Cornwall will be free. More than 50 food stalls will be set up in it, in which tourists will be able to enjoy local food of Agra along with Brij, Rajasthani, Awadhi, Mughlai, Gujarati, South Indian cuisine and food of various districts of Uttar Pradesh. Various programs have been planned in this Taj Carnival, which will run from 17 October to 10 November, from 11 am to 11 pm.
