225 dengue infected patients admitted in medical colleges of Bihar, arrangement of one nurse on 30 beds in Patna AIIMS

Patna. On Tuesday, Additional Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit and Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh reviewed with all medical colleges, hospitals and civil surgeons to prevent dengue outbreak in Bihar. He took stock of the updated situation of dengue from the districts. Also instructed all the districts to make rescue and treatment operations effective. The review found that currently 225 patients are admitted in 12 medical college hospitals of the state and are being treated. So far this year, the total number of dengue patients in the state has reached 1132 in 215 days, which includes 857 dengue victims found in the month of September.

Maximum 32 new cases were found in Patna while 29 in Bhagalpur.

The review found that on Tuesday, the highest number of 32 new cases were found in Patna among the dengue affected districts of the state, while 29 dengue patients were found in Bhagalpur, 27 in Jamui, 14 in Begusarai and 10 in Vaishali district. Among the admitted patients, AIIMS, nine in Patna, five in IGIMS, 14 in PMCH, nine in NMCH, Patna, three in SKMCH, Muzaffarpur, six in DMCH, Darbhanga, maximum 141 in JLNMCH, Bhagalpur, 11 in ANMCH, Gaya, GMC, Three patients are included in Bettiah, five in GMC, Purnia and 19 in BIMS Pawapuri. Official sources said that the Chief Secretary will review dengue with the District Magistrates of the state on Wednesday.

Patients will get facilities in AIIMS, provision of one staff nurse on 30 beds

Patna AIIMS, which is facing the crisis of doctors, nurses, paramedical and class IV employees, has got a big relief. After the creation of new posts for the hospital, the shortcomings have now almost been eliminated. This is going to provide great relief in treatment also. In this sequence, it has now been decided to increase the number of nurses in different wards of Patna AIIMS. Now one staff nurse will be arranged for 30 beds here. With this, patients will not have to search for nurses for treatment.

One staff nurse will be deployed on eight beds in the ICU.

According to the hospital management, more than 100 nurses have been reinstated recently. Keeping this in view, now one nurse will be arranged for 30 beds. Similarly, one staff nurse will be deployed on eight beds in the ICU. After this, recruitment is also being done on the posts of ward boys, mess workers and sweepers, security guards, office assistants, watchmen etc. Due to which relevant personnel will be deployed. The facilities will be provided to the patients after appointment to the respective posts within the next one month.

Six new dengue patients found in a single day

The number of dengue patients is increasing every day in Muzaffarpur district. During testing at SKMCH on Tuesday, dengue was confirmed in six patients. District Vector Borne Disease Control Officer Dr. Satish Kumar has confirmed this. With this, the number of dengue patients in the district has now increased to 28. Dr. Satish said that the test report from the lab on Tuesday has confirmed dengue in six patients. All of them are being admitted and treated in SKMCH. He said that in private hospitals, the blood samples of the patients whose dengue is confirmed are being sent to the laboratory for ELISA test.

A large number of people are coming to private testing houses for dengue testing.

The Health Department has given necessary guidelines for prevention and control of dengue in urban areas and blocks. The Civil Surgeon has been asked to establish inter-departmental coordination with the Education Department, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Urban Development, Municipal Corporation and make efforts for the prevention of dengue along with paying special attention to the cleanliness campaign. The Aedes aegypti mosquito often breeds in clean stagnant water in and around homes. This mosquito usually bites during the day.

People are getting dengue tested in private labs

A large number of people are coming to the private testing houses of the city to get tested for dengue. During the last one week, dengue has been confirmed in six patients in private testing houses. This figure is of only two private testing houses. Whereas, there are more than three dozen private testing houses in the city. But, the government is refusing to accept this report. In private hospitals, dengue patients are treated based on the reports of private testing houses. In the last 15 days, a large number of people with suspected symptoms of dengue have got themselves examined in private hospitals.

Department does not accept dengue test report of private lab

The health department does not accept the test reports of private labs. The department accepts only the confirmation of dengue test done in SKMCH’s lab. Fogging is being done near the house by the Health Department. Most of the testing houses said that samples should come every week for dengue testing.
