There is churning going on in Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) regarding seats and candidates. The party is said to be getting Rajmahal, Dumka, Giridih and Singhbhum Lok Sabha seats under the alliance. Only Vijay Hansda, the current MP from Rajmahal, is likely to get the ticket again.

Decision on Dumka Lok Sabha seat left for Hemant Soren

The decision on Dumka Lok Sabha seat has been left to Hemant Soren. They will decide who will be the candidate from there or they will contest themselves. The party can place its bets on Tundi MLA Mathura Mahato from Giridih Lok Sabha seat. However, no seat has been officially announced.

Situation changed in Singhbhum after Geeta

After Congress MP Geeta Koda joined BJP, JMM has staked claim on Singhbhum seat. The reason behind this is that out of the six assembly constituencies of this seat, five are from JMM and one from Congress. From the past, MLAs were continuously putting pressure on the Lok Sabha seat.

JMM decided to contest on Singhbhum Lok Sabha seat

Now it has been agreed in the alliance that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidates will stand on Singhbhum Lok Sabha seat. Meanwhile, Chaibasa MLA Deepak Biruwa, a strong contender from JMM’s side, has now become a minister of the state government. So he will not contest the elections.
