16 lakh women of 10 districts including Gorakhpur will not get free cylinder on Diwali, know the reason here

Gorakhpur News: This time on Diwali, around 16 lakh women of 10 districts of Gorakhpur may be deprived of the facility of free LPG cylinder. E-KYC of these women has not been done. Also, there is no registration on the website of National Payments Corporation of India i.e. NPCI. Only two lakh women are going to get the facility of free cylinder. Indian Oil officials have appealed to the beneficiaries to register themselves on e-KYC and NPCI website. He told that as the beneficiaries will register with KYC on NPCI. Anyway, the money for the free cylinder will continue to be sent to their bank account.

Only two lakh beneficiaries will get the benefit of the scheme

There are more than 18 lakh beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme in 10 districts of Gorakhpur region. The state government had announced to provide free LPG cylinders to the beneficiaries of Ujala scheme on Diwali and Holi. All of them are to get the benefit of the scheme but due to the paper process not being completed, only two lakh beneficiaries will get the benefit of the scheme in the first batch. Mukesh Kumar, Deputy General Manager of Indian Oil Gorakhpur region, said that all the beneficiaries should do their e-KYC and also register on the NPCI website and update their data. He said that as soon as the beneficiaries update their data, the subsidy amount will continue to go into their accounts.

These districts are included in Gorakhpur region

Gorakhpur region includes the districts of Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Deoria, Basti, Sant Kabirnagar, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Azamgarh and Ambedkar Nagar.

Beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme will get such facilities

The central government gives subsidy per cylinder to the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme. At present the price of non subsidized LPG cylinder is Rs 965. But the central government gives a subsidy of Rs 350 per cylinder to the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme. Beneficiaries have to pay Rs 965 to get the cylinder. Later, Rs 350 of subsidy is sent to their bank account by the Central Government. According to this, the beneficiaries get Rs 615 per cylinder. Now that the state government has announced to provide free cylinders, apart from the subsidy given by the central government, a separate subsidy of Rs 615 will be given. This subsidy amount will be credited to the account 5 days after the purchase of the cylinder.
