15,000 people of the skyscraper yearning for water in the builder-society dispute, carrying tanker water from the stairs

Lucknow. Just think! You live in a high-rise building in a posh area, but for water you have to come down to the government tanker with a bucket. You cannot use the lift to bring the vessel filled with water up because it is faulty. Due to irregular water supply in Noida, around 15,000 people living in a multi-storey building are living like this in this scorching heat. People’s life is badly affected due to everyday problems. Besides the water crisis, the lifts, garbage disposal and security arrangements are all defunct. The reason for this situation is said to be the dispute between the Apartment Ownership Association (AOA) and the builder.

water problem from june 1

Over 15,00 residents of Paras Tieria Apartments in Noida’s Sector 137 are suffering due to erratic water supply for the last five days. Society resident Nitin Gupta, while narrating his anguish to an English newspaper, said that since June 1, some towers are getting water supply, while others are not. Water is being supplied in the kitchen of some flats, but there is no water in the bathroom. We are facing this kind of problem since last five days. AOA members have assured us that the problems are being rectified but the supply is being curtailed by the Noida authority.

Lift, garbage disposal system in bad shape

Residents here said that apart from the water crisis, other operations of the society are also affected after the transfer of maintenance including lift, garbage disposal and security system. Shreya Kashyap said that the lift is not working properly in many towers. Garbage disposal system is affected. The security staff of the society has also been reduced. The society has a total of 3,954 flats in 32 towers, in which around 15,000 people live.

Society changed the agency, builder did not give training

AOA president Col Ramesh Kumar Gautam (retd) alleged that the developer of the society, Paras Buildtech, refused to provide training to the employees after the handover. He says that the builder handed over the society to the AOA but did not allow the training of new employees by the old employees, which created problems in the functioning of the society. Colonel Ramesh Kumar Gautam says that apart from this, the builder has damaged many equipments, due to which the water supply has been disrupted. We are now rectifying all these issues and water supply will be restored soon. Noida Authority officials have also directed the builder to help resolve the issues.

Society accused of rejecting suggestions

On the other hand, a spokesperson for Paras Buildtech said that Paras Tierra was the technical agency responsible for taking care of the facilities earlier. The AOA rejected his suggestions and that agency was changed. As a result, the staff of the previous agency who were technically proficient had to hand over the responsibility of maintenance of common areas and day-to-day operations to the new agency appointed by the AOA team. The decline in the quality of maintenance services is due to lack of technical expertise of the new agency appointed by the present RWA.

Noida Authority gave 15 days time

In this whole matter, Deputy General Manager of Noida Authority RP Singh said that the matter is of Society-Builder dispute. We have provided three water tankers to help the residents in distress. Noida Authority officials went to the spot on Sunday and tried to mediate between the AOA and the builder. We have directed the builder to resolve the issue within next 10 to 15 days.
