30 companies of central forces are being deployed for Dhupguri by-election. Of these, 15 companies have been deployed while the other 15 companies are going to arrive soon. Voting will be held for by-election in this assembly constituency of Jalpaiguri district on 5th September. Significantly, there is not even a week left in the by-elections. Meanwhile, the Center is making special arrangements to increase security in Dhupguri. On Wednesday, the Union Home Ministry said that they are sending 15 more companies i.e. about 1500 paramilitary forces on the occasion of this assembly by-election in West Bengal. A decision has already been taken to deploy 15 companies of paramilitary forces in this assembly constituency of North Bengal on the occasion of by-elections. On Wednesday, the Center said that after the arrival of additional forces, a total of 30 companies of central forces will be deployed in Dhupguri and the process of deployment of this force will be completed by next Saturday.
